Accessibility Statement
This statement explains our approach to website accessibility, the standard we aim to follow, possible limitations and how to request support or an alternative format.
1. Our commitment
Courses Direct Limited wants its website and online learning services to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use assistive technology or have visual, hearing, motor, speech, cognitive or learning disabilities.

2. Accessibility standard and current status
We aim to design and maintain the website with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2, Level AA.
Accessibility is not a one-time badge. It requires testing, content review, maintenance and correction as the site and learning materials change.
3. Accessibility features we aim to provide
- Clear headings, labels and page structure.
- Keyboard access to navigation, forms and interactive controls.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Sufficient colour contrast for essential text and controls.
- Responsive layouts that support zoom and different screen sizes.
- Form labels, instructions and understandable error messages.
- Links that describe their purpose where practical.
- Avoidance of unnecessary flashing or rapidly moving content.
- Captions, transcripts or alternatives for important recorded media where available.
4. Known and potential limitations
You may encounter accessibility barriers in content or functions that have not yet been fully reviewed. Potential limitations can include:
- Older PDF, Word or downloadable course documents that are not fully structured for screen readers.
- Images with missing, incomplete or unsuitable alternative text.
- Video or audio content without complete captions, transcripts or audio description.
- Complex tables, assessments or interactive learning activities that are difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader.
- Third-party checkout, payment, embedded-media, chat or learning-platform components outside our direct technical control.
- Colour, focus, heading or form-label issues introduced by older templates or later content edits.
Please report a barrier using the contact details below. Include the page address, what you were trying to do, the device or assistive technology used and the format or support you need.
5. Making the website easier to use
You may be able to improve your experience using browser or device settings, including:
- Zooming text and page content.
- Changing text size, contrast or colour settings.
- Using keyboard navigation, voice control or switch access.
- Using a screen reader, reading mode or text-to-speech tool.
- Enabling captions or transcripts for media where provided.
- Reducing motion through operating-system accessibility settings.
The exact controls depend on your browser, operating system and assistive technology.
6. Alternative formats and reasonable support
If you cannot access important information, contact us and explain what you need. Depending on the content and available source material, we will consider reasonable alternatives such as:
- Accessible HTML or plain-text content.
- A larger-print or simplified document.
- A transcript or written summary.
- Information explained by telephone or email.
- Reasonable adjustments to an enrolment, support or assessment process where applicable.
Some requests may require coordination with the course provider, tutor, awarding body or learning-platform provider.
7. Third-party websites and learning platforms
Some course, payment, video, certificate or support functions may be supplied through third-party websites. We cannot directly control every part of an independent platform, but we will consider reported barriers and, where reasonably possible, work with the provider or offer an alternative route.
8. Accessibility feedback and support
To report an accessibility problem or request support, email info@courses-direct.co.uk or call 0121 517 1969.
Please provide:
- The page, course or document involved.
- A description of the barrier.
- The device, browser and assistive technology used, if relevant.
- The alternative format or action that would help.
- Your preferred contact method.
We will review the request and respond as soon as reasonably possible. Urgent barriers affecting enrolment, payment or active study should be clearly marked.
9. Testing and ongoing improvement
We aim to improve accessibility through a combination of automated checks, keyboard testing, screen-reader review, colour-contrast checks, content-editor guidance and user feedback.
This statement will be reviewed when the website is materially redesigned, when significant new services are introduced or when an accessibility audit identifies changes that should be documented.
